15 Years Ago Today …

15 years ago, today, I married the “wife of my youth”, Le-Anne McGibbon after a secret dating relationship and whirlwind engagement. She is an incredible woman, a true gift from God and a real blessing to me and our 3 boys, Kyle, Aaron, and Liam. Thank you, Le-Anne for a wonderful 15 years of marriage. Happy Anniversary. I love you.

Back From A Great Family Vacation …

My family and I just returned from a great family vacation at the Ferguson Cottage on the Pickerel River close to Port Loring, Ontario  with our cousins on Le-Anne’s side; Janyce and Darin Baigent and their children – Sarah, Heather and Andrew. Le-Anne has great childhood memories of her times there with her family. It was great to keep the tradition going on this vacation with the Baigents.

Fun and adventure were had by all from shooting off fireworks on a homemade raft for Canada Day to seeing a bear on a run to the local dump, to an amazing 1-hour treck into the Ontario wilderness to Little John Lake for a fishing trip to an afternoon down the river for some cliff jumping. Here are some pics that tell some of the story …

Kyle caught a large Bass. He has quite a “fish that got away” story about this one … this Bass broke his line and stole his original lure and leader … then on his next cast, Kyle caught the same Bass again by snagging the hook of the first lure! I have never seen this happen before in my years of fishing!

We arrived back home yesterday refreshed and ready for another few months of work and ministry. T

Happy Mother’s Day to Two Amazing Mom’s!

I had the privilege this morning of performing a Mother’s Day concert at Grace Methodist Church in Mississauga. An excellent time of ministry and a opportunity to honor two very special women (and mothers) in my life, my wife Le-Anne (McGibbon) Dick and my mom, Norma Jean Dick.

I owe so much to my mom: she raised 7 children as a single mom after my father passed away when I was 4 years old, started me on my walk of faith with God, introduced me to the violin and invested in countless music lessons for me and my family. She is a great friend and an amazing woman of faith who I love and admire.

My wife, Le-Anne, is equally amazing – a wonderful mom to our three boys, Kyle, Aaron and Liam. She is also a beautiful wife and soul-mate to me. It was on Mother’s Day, 14 years ago, that I proposed to Le-Anne. I can’t imagine going through life without her.

I thank God for these two amazing women in my life. May we make every day a “mother’s day” for our mom’s!
