MacBook Pro Serviced :: Apple Extended Warranty – Worth its weight in gold!
Just back from a wonderful week of vacation with Le-Anne and the boys at a rented cottage in Georgian Bay. A nice rest, lot’s of fishing, boating, swimming and all other things water!
In the wake of our little adventures on the road on the Canada Day Weekend and Two Islands Tours, I decided to use the time away to get my Mac Book Pro serviced to make sure it was running at 100%. During our last concert event at Bethesda Church in St. John’s, Newfoundland, the audio on our final two songs decided to mysteriously quit (another “road story” for another day) … We run our tracks/loops as embedded .wav files in Pro-Presenter so that they sync up with our visuals. The visuals kept running while the audio simply quit! A quick plan B and Brad and I finished the concert minus the full band loops/tracks … but I needed to problem solve this issue before the continuation of our TWO ISLAND TOUR to Vancouver Island this coming Friday – thus the computer service while on vacation.
A local Apple repair depot, Synergenics in Guelph, ON tested the USB ports (which I thought may be the issue) and found no problems there … but then ordered and installed a new Logic Board to fix the audio issue (normally well over a $1200 repair in Canada!). All the other system hardware was tested and no other issues were found with the computer.
All this was covered under my Apple Extended Warranty (Apple Care Protection Plan) – originally a $300 investment … definitely worth its weight in gold!
